No idea. I bought a vintage japanese music/jewellery box from a charity shop. I found 2 rings in the ring compartment, one was this silver ring and another is a gold ring made in Birmingham in 1890.

Just a shot in the dark, but I found a reference to an Alfred E Rego (Alfred Estainlao De Rego Senior), Honolulu online in The Manufacturing Jeweler Volume 73 Page 12.
