Re: German 17th C ? Wine & Water Jug -- Unknown Marks ! Help

Hello,
I have no idea about the marks, but V and W looks for me like Vine and Water. Jugs for vine and water are used in the Christian religious ceremony.

For my eyes it looks like a twig with an acorn leaf and two acorn fruits on it.

But I have no idea who it could be. Is this the only mark on the ring? Nothing else?

Tea-Caddy

Hello, I am shure, the Tea Caddy is made in the Area of Hanau. As Silverport posted correctly, I didnt found any mark for Röll & Stephan. And if they had choosen any mark, they would not have combined the Coat of Arms of Hanau and Großkrotzenburg. Because the companies of this towns worked in ...

Hi,

this are "Hildesheimer Rose"-Spoons, probably for Mokka and made in Hanau.

There is no makers-mark on it, just the 800 for the silverpurity. The circle you can see is just part of the decoration.

blakstone wrote:Actually, even with the small photo, I can tell that these are some very common Hanau pseudomarks; see this thread for the same marks.
but doesnt they look like the marks Scheffler 476, 477 which he assigned to Schleissner? Do you think he was wrong with that Assignment?

Mark "efes" on Sugar-Spoon

Hi

I am looking for that Mark "Efes". I guess it is probably the mark of a German wholesailer. (Shurely not a turkish beer mark :-))

Would be glad to know who it is.
