I agree with Waylander, the hallmarks appear to be 1926 . For one, there is no duty mark,the pieces just look 19th-20th Century! As far as maker? A clearer , maybe magnified view could answer this question! Thanks!

Hello, The fruit knife you have has the hallmarks for Birmingham England 1873-74 by George Unite. The blade is sterling silver .925 , George Unite made many smaller pieces that are much sought after by collectors and are usually of very nice quality! These were made for eating fruit or cheese. You are confusing this mark (which is Sheffield 1916-17) The fruit knife style is from an earlier period but you are not correct on the hallmarks. Keep up your research but be carefull to pay attention to details! Thanks!

This is a Sheffield piece and dates to 1916-17 . The date letter is a Y . Hope this helps!

Hi ,
The #7 was stamped to indicate the # of pieces in a set for example (a set of 6 open salts would be numbered 1 through 6) as far as the maker I have not been able to identify.

Thanks for you effort! I have found the mark to be that of an American manufacturer Swift & Fisher (makers of ecclesiastical plate) Thanks!

Hi Tom, No other marks on this piece. It came from an estate of a 95 year old woman who had a lot of Mexican silver and other pieces from around the world.
