Re: Is this one of David-Andersen's marks?

Thank you Cheryl. Yes, the center is guilloche. The pin looks so unusual (to me) for a David-Andersen that I had doubts about the hallmark, It was not identified as such and I bought it based on the maker's mark, thinking it had to be D-A's, but it was hard to see. Mireille

Is this one of David-Andersen's marks?

The maker's mark on this Norwegian pin looks a lot like the older David-Andersen mark but it is not exactly the trident shown on the website. Is this a variation of it, or is this pin by someone else? If so, by whom? Thank you in advance for your help. The link below will take you to a larger versio...

Thank you dognose. That's exactly what it looks like. Would you venture a guess as to who might have made this pin?

Liberty & Co in Edinburgh? Please confirm

https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg I realize that you won't be able to see the hallmarks, but they say Ly & Co, followed by the lion passant, Edinburgh towers, and either O or Q for a date which would be 1988 or 1990. According to another website which...

Re: Unusual perfume locket?

A THOUSAND APOLOGIES! Upon reflection, I realized that I had not tried to unscrew it! And of course it does. I can't tell you how dumb I feel....
Image
It is marked sterling inside, no hallmark. So I guess it is a perfume locket after all?
Thank you all.

Re: Unusual perfume locket?

No, it does not unscrew. When I received it, one of the sides with the holes had been slightly knocked in. I could see that there was no thread. The side with the holes is smooth, and its edge looks just like the edge that you see for the back. The side with the holes fits in the back by approx. 1 mm.

Re: Unusual perfume locket?

P.S. my camera won't let me get closer. I immersed the piece in water to see whether it would weigh more afterwards as a test to see if there is anything absorbent inside. It didn't weigh any more than before. Here is a link to see a bigger picture: http://tinypic.com/r/ilxapl/6

Unusual perfume locket?

I am uncertain as to the use for this piece. It does not open although it is made of 2 pieces, it has no hinges, and I can't see anything inside through the holes. Any help in identifying the use of this item would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: A different signature for Finn Jensen Norway?

Tosten, thank you so much - I am very happy that it is by Finn Jensen. Does the use of the initials indicate a certain period or was it concurrent with the triangular version?

Re: ID Danish maker initials JH or HJ, Hardrup?

It is a c-clasp. There is a guilloche pattern but it is so minute that I was unable to capture it in the photos, yet it is a rather large pin 4.7 cm (1.85") diameter. Thank you to all for your interest.

Re: ID Danish maker initials JH or HJ, Hardrup?

Thank you. I see on the list of Danish hallmarks that there are 3 Hans Jensens listed, 1 in Copenhagen 1899-1937, 2 in Aarhus (1937-1957 and 1957-1970). To which one or to which period do you thinks this pin belongs?
