Spoons marked RC ?

Post by jacksonsvl19l »

Hello Again.
I'm not sure I'm in the correct section.
Set of 6 spoons with crest.
Maker's mark I believe is RC. Date letter small p.
I'm wondering is RC Richard Crossley, and what is the strange mark at the end of the hallmarks, looks to me almost like a four leaf clover.
5 1/8 inches long, 16.4g.

Thank you for any assistance.

I agree Richard Crossley with a 1790 hallmark. The other mark you mention would be a journeyman's mark; i.e. the personal mark of the workman who actually made the spoon or took responsibility for it in the workshop.
