I have come across this piece that I have been unable to identify the makers mark. the piece is a necklace marked Sterling on the clasp, made of silver and ceramic. The piece tests good for silver 90-100%. I suspect that the piece is handmade as you can see the faint outline of the silhouette from a coin on the back of one of the medallions.
unknown mark on silver and ceramic jewlry
Re: unknown mark on silver and ceramic jewlry
hi,
The mark stands for Egypt, Cairo,1906-Present
And the fineness is .800 (Arabic numerals for 80).
No state mark, no date letter.

Thank You very much for the information. I had no clue, the mark looked Asian to me. Also the piece is actually incomplete I believe, there are holes all the way through each beetle medallion (from top to bottom), like there was something hanging down from them at one time. Again Thank you for your input, it is greatly appreciated!
