The 925-1000.com database shows two marks for Damaso Gallegos. One is the familiar DG in script. The second one is simply a G in script. Does anyone have any information on the second one. Has an example been seen? Is it older? etc. I cannot find any information on this hallmark in any recourse I have.
Thank you for you input.
Mexican hallmark - Damaso Gallegos
Mikel,
Gallegos is probably best known for a Christmas themed jewelry set, the design made of holly leaves and hanging bells. I've come across it many times, usually with the DG mark, sometimes with just the G. I've never seen the design bearing any other maker's mark.
The two marks illustrated here on the site came from a single set. The DG mark on the pin, the G mark on an earring. I think he used them concurrently, although the site images show them as the same size, in reality the G is slightly smaller and I imagine it was intended for smaller pieces.
Regards, Tom
