The mark on the left side of the frame (your second picture) is a Sheffield hallmark with the RC sponsor's mark of Carrs of Sheffield and a date letter S for 1992. The other mark (your third picture) is an Italian mark; this does not seem to have been indexed in the Italian Silverware and Jewellery Manufacturers post.
I will move your post to our Sheffield hallmarks section.
Hi,
British marks are Carr's of Sheffield Ltd, date letter ``s`` for 1992, the rose for Sheffield and Lion passant.
The frame was made in Florence, Italy by the maker who was assigned registration number 665. Not known to me.
Regards
Id' like to clarify a minor point. Ag2012 has stated that it was made in Florence and imported into the UK. The hallmarks show it to be the other way around do they not? I see domestic Sheffield 1992 marks, not import marks.
Hi. SteveDWollongong is right. The frame was made by Carr`s and imported to Italy. They are still in business and the same frame can be found in their frame brochure under VR4-SS
