My first post and I don't know if these pictures will show up. I've looked everywhere but can't id this pattern. It's heavy, engraved, and has a date engraved on the back. Part of it starts to look like the head of a bearded man but maybe I'm seeing things! If anyone knows, I would be grateful--so curious to know the name of this.

Black, Starr & Frost were primarily retailers, your pattern is Dominick & Haff's 'Renaissance', introduced in 1894, and there is indeed a 'North Wind' type face - for future reference, any marks on a piece should be included, even if they don't seem important...
Thank you! I can't believe I finally have the answer. Of course I've been looking under the wrong name all this time. That index of patterns is really interesting and it's incredible (at least to me) that they made a pierced fork and serving spoon using the face.
