I have a pillbox that has this marking on it. We got it in the middle east and wanted to know what the mark is?

Hi,
The origin of swastika symbol is still controversial and it is claimed one of the oldest archeological evidence of swastika are Arabian Peninsula and Iraq, other sources claim Ukraine, India, Iran.
Anyway, it is an ancient religious icon and it cannot be linked to any country and maker in the Middle East.
The image of the whole item might help.

It is most probably Indian.
They use it for the kajal or for the red powder with which they make tikka on the forehead.

Hi,
Amena is right;it is Indian kajal silver box.
Compare with this one:

Besides, swastika was once very popular as a symbol of good luck then misused in the West, but retained its meaning in India,as seen here.
(This is why we always ask for the image of the whole item).
