Help with hallmark - German?

Post by mcannavo »

Attached are photos of a fish knife. I purchased this item because of the lovely ornaments, and believe that the ad referenced a German maker from the 1930's. I cannot find any info on the encircled insignia on the back of knife. Looks like letters Berndorf around maybe a bear or groundhog in the center with words above and below. There are no other marks that I can find. Thank you for your time.

My apologies - turns out this is a silverplate item.

Hello and no problem, admin will move it to the correct section. And yes You are right - maker was Krupp Berndorf from Austria, the pattern was designed before 1900 and in production for a few decades, believe there are no exact production dates. Regards, Bahner
