Hi guys,
I bought a sugar cube tone the other day and there is a mark on the hinge which I cannot identify. It looks like a few numbers and a few characters. I don’t know if the tone is made by silver or it’s silver plated. Cannot see any other marks on any part of the tone except the one in the photo unfortunately.

Could anyone assist to identify this item, any information about the material or age or even what are the numbers and characters marks means would be appreciated.
Thanks very much.
Colin

Re: Cannot identify silver mark
Hi Colin,
I think it's likely to be silver. The script mark, which is in Jawi, an Arabic script used in Malaysia, the script translates to the word is Kelantan, a state in northern Malaysia which has a tradition of silverwork.
If you put the word 'Kelantan' into the search box, you will see other examples.

Thanks very much Trev, you’re amazing!
I have been trying to search this mark for a few days but you direct me to the answer. The item does not look like a traditional English tone as the design looks like two spoons are connected by another piece of silver. It’s very much like the Asian handcrafted stuff.
Thanks again.
