Hello
as it is not possible to edit a posting ,here an adition to my first posting.--
As I could proof, the material of the spoons is massiv silver--13 Lot ( 812 / 1000) So my question now is, is the mark the mark of the german silversmith,or the mark of a german city? I think these spoons should have been produced between 1840 to 1870.
best regards
Silvy
Hello, checked all of Scheffler's books - no match. There is no way of telling whether this is a maker's mark or a town mark. Might be either and it might be not German but Swiss, Polish etc. I agree with the dating. Best wishes, Bahner
Thank you very much for your work.I´d like to own these Schefflers too.-- ---The spoons have spent a long time in Luxembourg,I would think they also have been bought around that area, may be in Trier/ Germany or in Luxembourg City. So I would think, that swiss or polish are unwahrscheinlich, but not impossible.
