Reed & Barton Pattern 1795 A - can't find photo

Post by mrlumpy71 »

I have a Reed & Barton sauce bowl from 1939 but I can't find the pattern 1795A on the web anywhere - is this silverplate or sterling?

Hi Lump-

Unless it is marked "Sterling" or after this great site "925-1000" or a veriation there of, the item you have is likely plated. How did you determine it was 1939? Sorry, I do not know the pattern, perhaps someone with more knowledge will let us know.

Best wishes- Byron

Large silverplated gravy bowl

the only information I found on this was a graph that had all the date stamps for this maker. This mark (the one that looks like a flower) was for 1939.

THANKS EVERYONE - I now know this is a Reed & Barton Gravy Bowl and the pattern is called 1795 A and the floral date mark puts it at 1939.
