Snuff or Pill box? Please help Identify.

This was found in items belonging to a woman born in 1906. It is 1 1/4 inches long and 3/4 inch wide and 1/4 inch deep.

It has a tight spring hinge and has an Aztec type motif carved on the lid. the mark is very difficult to read. It says VILLASWERTE (?) 925
