I have a lovely pin from Portugal with hallmarks that need some explanation. In particular there is a hallmark that looks like an open hand with three fingers up and the thumb across the palm. I have seen this particular stamp now on 2-3 other vintage pieces from Portugal. Possibly this represents the city where it was made? Or possibly silver content? Any ideas? In addition there is another intricate celtic-like stamp, possibly a makers mark? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please note that I said the virus was in the photo-host, the warning was posted to keep other visitors from having a Trojan invade their system. Fortunately, I have fairly good protection, it immediately shut down my computer, the virus was not easily removed, involving several steps. Image-host services are frequently hacked and usually remove the viruses in a short time, though I've known them to last for a day or more.
