Hecho en Mexico d.f. JN HNOS Sterling 0.925 Help identify

Post by cindy612 »

Sterling scalloped pedestal bowl, base 4" diameter, height-3.75", Bowl 9.5" diameter.

Makers mark in a box, photos couldn't be attached. Message said "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached". Pic was under the req'd jpg kb limit.

Hecho en
Mexico D.F.
JN. HNOS
Sterling 0.925

The JN at first looked like a fancy N, but after research, it may be two letters together as one. HNOS, I determined to be short for Hermanos (brothers).

Any help you can provide in identifying this maker so I can have information when I sell this piece.

I am guessing the time period is after 1950, and there is no Eagle mark.

Thank you for your help.

I don't know who the maker is but the DF means it's from Mexico City (Distrito Federal) and no eagle mark dates it prior to 1948.

Thank you for the information, it is helpful. Since this information didn't come up on Google, silver websites, or eBay, I figured there was going to be a limited amount of information I could gain. At least you narrowed it down for me. Thanks!
