Large Ladle - no idea where to start!
Large Ladle - no idea where to start!
I have a ladle that measures about 12.5" in length and is fairly heavy. I think it is silver, but not sure. It is not ornate, but smooth. I cannot make out all the markings on the back and cannot figure out whether this is American or European (although with the crown I would think not American) - silver or silverplate (probably silverplate since there is no sterling mark). I hope someone can steer me in the right direction. Since I am in the US, I thought I would start with the US Silver Topic. The markings on the back - moving towards the end of the handle look like this: all of them are raised lettering with black background - raised "A" on dark circle, next a mark that looks like a fancy "C" or "G", then fancy "M", then fancy "& Co" with the small o as a superscript, then "X", then a shield with a small crown at top and either "K & Co" or "H & Co" or "L & Co" - cannot tell which. Thanks for any assistance!

Hi Inugent,
Posting the images for the first time may seem daunting, but in fact it's a complete doodle. We don't mind how many attempts you make, they can soon be deleted, no problem. Using the Preview button below will let you practice how your post will appear to others.
