Need help identifying some marks.

Post by morgaine2501 »

My mother has an antique stamp box and we were trying to learn more about it. We think we've matched the lion and anchor to Birmingham. But cannot identify the right hand mark. I think it looks like a mountain goat. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. That's a Gorham mark. Take a look here: http://www.925-1000.com/Gorham_Date_Code.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I see the lion and anchor match the gorham stamps but i can't find what that 3rd stamp means.

I believe the third mark is the "G" for Gorham that just wasn't struck hard enough.
