This bracelet has the mark of a bird's head inside a horseshoe. Around it are the words, Hecho in Mexico Taxco. Then on the clasp it is marked Sterling 925 Taxco. I have looked in every hallmark book I know to look in and can't find this mark. Thanks for any help.
Need help with mark - bird's head inside a horseshoe
Re: Need help with mark - bird's head inside a horseshoe
My boyfriend just bought me a bracelet at a street festival, it has the exact same mark as yours, the silver part looks the same as yours, but the stones are turquoise. I'm so curious about its origins, did you have any luck finding out info about it?

Every time I have found a piece with that mark the sterling mark has been false. There are multiple designs that are routinely falsely marked to fool tourists and this is one of them. :( The bird head seems to be a Mexican origin mark that isn't used on silver, the bird for silver is a full body eagle. There are a few different bird head marks I've seen used on non-silver items, sometimes with a false sterling/925 mark, other times as the only mark.
