First post here. I searched through all the pictures, but couldn't find anything similar to the hallmarks on this brooch. Perhaps you have an idea?

The mark on the right looks like a Mexican Eagle mark to me.

I don't have the piece with me, so I'll check tonight when I get home.
I'm in San Antonio, so the piece being Mexican makes sense.

Yup, Mexican. The other mark is AE inside a heart shaped M, a common mark but I've never seen it ID'd. The design was done by many artisans.
