Violin-shaped snuffbox: please identify maker's marks

Post by JCSeattle »

Greetings. I've attempted to research the marks on this snuffbox online and have so far been unsuccessful. This may or may not be of German origin. I received it from a violinist-conductor of Swedish-Russian descent. I would greatly appreciate any assistance provided. Thanks.

The violin is 2" in length, about 3/4 inch wide. Marks are on the violin's base. Please see photos linked to below.

Hello and welcome.

Believe that's a Mexican Eagle mark with 143 inside.
It's a newer style Eagle mark c.1955-1980.
Mr references don't identify who used that HD mark.
