Mark Identification Help, Please

Post by imagemagic »

Hi! I have always been interested in jewelry... designed a few beaded projects and had a short-lived line of natural element items and now want to get involved in vintage finds. Most items I have accumulated seem to have similar or same jewel or mark online but I have one that I can't track down and hope for some assistance. It's not an artistic peice... commercial at best, but I am curious about the maker. It is "Made In Mexico" according to a double line stacked text and then has a logo which baffles me. It is either an H inside a W or an H inside an M with either a crown insignia or a half sun. The punch marks at the sun flame points (or crown points, depending on which end is up...) don't appear to be numbers when viewed through a loop. The mark appears on the bottom side of the necklace near the clasp, and inside the earing near the clip-on clasp. The design is on a 1 1/4 x 1 1/4" heavy gold-tone clam shell. I've prepared images of the logos...

Any ideas would be welcome and greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I also have a piece with this hallmark. It is a beautiful mermaid brooch.I believe it came in the original bag Hutton Wilkinson is the name on velvet bag. There is a crown above the stacked HW logo(the H being slightly smaller than the W)and it is surrounded by a sunburst. I cannot find any info on this maker either.Would love to know more.
