Silver ingot from my grandmother. Don't know anything about it. Would really like to know what the background is to it.

Hi Belfur,
I believe this ingot was made in Sheffield, year 1977. The bottom mark {duty mark} is a commemorative one for the Queens Silver Jubilee. I am sure this information is correct, if I am wrong I am sure someone will correct me! Hope this helps...Best wishes, Jo.
