I'm having a tough time trying to figure out the maker (C of H Ltd). 1901 -London.

I think you will find the sponsors mark is Guild of Handicraft, (the 1st letter is a G).

Hi Trev, very spot on, about the legacy of the item, being of a retailer had me baffled, the piece reminds me of something from Dickens(novelist), lol....Really appreciate the info.
