ID Edinburgh hallmark date on charm

Hi, Thanks for this great resource! I have a charm here that has a SMJ mark, Scottish Edinburgh hallmarks and date code . Any help with the codes are appreciated - codes appear old but we'd like your opinion. Thanks for taking the time to look!

I believe the sponsor SMJ is Scotia Manufacturing Jewellers and the date to be 1971

So is the date code 'U' representing 1971 or is the date code one of the other symbols the date code?

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of date hallmarks for Edinburgh after 1900. My date code list ends at 1905. Many thanks.

The date letter 'Q' on the extreme right of your image identifies 1971.
