
The receipt was issued to a J.C. Scott esq*. of Sinton by Hawick for the repair of a silver fish slice (1s-6d) on the 19th December 1861, and the repair of a sugar basin (9d) on the 16th July 1862. The account appears to have been settled on the 16th January 1863.
Wighton & Son was the continuation of the business of Alexander Graham Wighton who died in 1855.
* This would be John Corse Scott of 'Satchels', Sinton, by Harwick. Noted as a non-resident voter in Rutherford's Southern Counties Register of 1866, who's main residence appears to have been in the village of Ashkirk on the Scottish Borders.
