2 Silver Vases, need help with dates and mftr?

I have two vases (both 12" tall) that I am stumped on manufacturer, date and whether they are silver, plated or nickel alloy. Can you help? I assume they are sterling, but not sure (not magnetic). I have pictures but cannot figure out how to upload....

(1st vase) 12.25" tall and 5" wide at top stamped:
-left facing standing lion
-"W"
-"O" or "C"
-plain 3 pointed crown
below that is either "S553N" or "5553N"

(2nd vase) 12" tall and 2.75" wide at top stamped:
A rounded "Wallace Bros Silver Co" and to the right "V9804"

I am researching for an ill family member and cannot afford an appraisal. Just looking to confirm what the heck they really are! Thank you so much!
