Small Ornate Pill (?) Container Help!

Post by disneyfan131 »

Hello! I have been trying to find out for the longest time what the silver mark on this piece is from (and frankly, what this neat little container is!). I am assuming it is a silver pill or snuff container of some sort, due to its size, but I am not sure. You can see the mark in the 3rd photo and it is aprox 1.5 inches tall. The two pieces just pull apart easily, no screwing or any other movement necessary.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give. :)

If you can send a picture of the inside of the bottom, or check and see if there was a post in the center that may have broken off. It looks like a thimble holder.

Thank you both very much for your help! I do not see any type of mark or missing post in the center of the item so I am guessing it is not a thimble holder, but interesting thought. Thank you!
