Tray made by Wolfers Freres?

Post by nilchen »

Hi
I have this tray I dont quite know who made it. In one of my silver books came across Wolfers, hallmark looked a little different though.
Is this made by him??

THANKS

Hello.

Here's an authentic Wolfers mark to the right of your mark.
I don't have much experience with their marks, so I can't say for sure it is theirs.

The retailer seems to be the well known August Freytag, established in Elberfeld, Germany, in 1819 and I have no information about how long the business was active.

Hope this helps!

Nilchen's pic links no longer go to pictures of antique silver; in fact, the pictures are quite inappropriate!
