The Mace of the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees

The foot knob also has six panels, the main features being the arms of the Marquis of Londonderry in coloured enamel. On the boss in coloured enamel is a reproduction of the arms of the Bishop of Durham, commemorating the long association of the succession of bishops with Stockton-on-Tees. Of high workmanship throughout, the mace was designed and made by Joseph Fray. Ltd. of Birmingham, in collaboration with Mr. A. G. C. Woodroffe, of F. A. Woodroffe and Son, Ltd., who supplied it.
