i have a heart locket with carved flowers on the front

it says sterling & then it has a capital b in a octagon

can anyone give me any info regarding this piece - date etc

There was a jewelry manufacturer, M. Blumen, in New York City during the first quarter of the 20th century that used a similar mark.
Apparently in business for a short time.
