Coin Silver American? Candlestick Maker J.N. w/ Pseudo Marks

Hello,

This is my first time on this forum, so hopefully I did this right.

I have what I believe to be an early? coin silver candlestick. Stamped on bottom with the maker's initials J.N. There also also two other "pseudo marks", one is a crown and the other I am not sure what it is (like a un-complete # 8). The crown mark is only half there, but it is definitely a crown. The bottom of the candlestick is machined turned rather than a stamped sheet, much like an 18th century brass candlestick. I have not seen this on any other silver pitch loaded candlesticks. This is an old sheet silver loaded candlestick that is 8.5 inches high, lots of patina and signs of a long life, the weighting is minimal as the sheet silver appears to be a good gauge.

Questions: Is this American? Maker? Date?

Thanks in advance for any help in identifying this candlestick.

Sincerely, BWK

I could not update/edit my posting, so I am posting a reply to it in order to add a little more information.

The psuedo crown mark on the candlestick looks a lot like a Sheffield crown mark.

The other psuedo mark that looks like a partial 8, could it not be a tally mark of some sort?

Thank you again,

BWK
