A Curious little pill box?

hi, having recently aquired this and asking around as well as poring through the duch forum i am at a loss as to the hallmarks on this pill box.
i believe it is dutch, but as to maker and age i have no idea at all.
i hope someone with sage knowledge might enlighten me, any ideas would be splendid indeed!

Although the marks are worn (and upside down) I'm pretty sure it's by Simon Rosenau of Bad Kissingen, Germany; see
this page.

Sure does look like it. Do you have more precise working dates for Rosenau, than the vague timeframe I've given him on the German marks page?

Simon Rosenau of Germany? crumbs where do you fine gents discern all of this? i am fairly new to the whole foreign silver interest and aquired this pot from an old lady in her 70's for a reasonable price at a house clearance..and there i was thinking it was dutch :P at least that is what the leprous old crone told me..
i would be curious to know how old it is indeed!

Hello, Simon Rosenau (b. 1839, d. 1920) started in Kissingen in 1862. He also had a branch in Paris. He was first listed as “Hofantiquar”, roughly: supplier of antiques to the royal Bavarian court. His son Hermann Simon Rosenau (b. 1861, d. 1943) took over his father’s business in the 1890ies and started selling antique silverware in the Hanau style. H. S. Rosenau’s ties with the Hanau industry (most notably Schleissner and Neresheimer) were strong and I believe that much of the “old” silver with the Rosenau mark was actually made by Hanau based companies. He retired in 1932. I don’t know what happened to the shop after that. H.S. Rosenau then first lived in Munich, later in Paris, from where he was deported on October 28th, 1943 via Drancy to Auschwitz. Most likely he was murdered shortly after his arrival. Bahner
