It is silverplated. The mark FDG inside the thorch is
Fællesrepræsentationen for Danmarks Guldsmede "Fakkelmærket"
Joint representation of Danish Gold smiths. From 1929 and onwards.

We have been debating whether it is CC in the crown (letters) or if it is part of the ornamentation.
Seing your mark I am sure that it is CC - and we could guess that it is Carl M. Cohr a danish factory producing silver and silverplated items. Both of great handicraft and lower quality flat ware.

But I am not sure that the crown mark is Carl M Cohr. Could be someone else. Cant recall what our conclusion was. Also due to the cact that the crown mark is not in the list of Cohr marks that I have and that their silverplate was marked ATLA.

That it is danish silverplate is however sure without any doubht.

forgot EX means extra - extra what? dont know it is an undefined quality mark - controlled by nobody but the producer. He was also setting the standard - undefined standard.

Hello.

Tom came up with a good idea fot the CC in a crown mark.
Check the lst post here:

I have since seen set of modern style sterling candlestick holders with the same CC /crown mark.

Pat.
