This silver coaster is approximately 3" in diameter with a mark on the back of an "S" inside of a heart. I have been unable to identify a maker on my own. Three pics are included here. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Also would like to know if there is a safe way to clean it or should I just let it be?

If the marks are original then this is an Indian coin silver dish, dating King George's time in the UK(around 1920's), when India was still a part of the British Empire.
