Hi there! Can anyone recognize where the hallmark on this candelabra came from and who is the silversmith? The assay mark is the number three and a pretty lady facing left. The silversmith's mark is "JS".
I understand that this piece lived in Austria for many years - is it Austria by any chance? Many thanks to all!

Hi Trev - wow - I had missed that one when I was looking through the site! Thanks for pointing it out! Any idea on who the silversmith may be?
Thanks again!

Hi,
Sorry, I don't know the maker, hopefully someone with better knowledge will answer soon.

Actually you can narrow the date of that hallmark to 1920-1931.

That is not strictly speaking a candelabra. It's a piece of Judaica.called a Menorah or "Channukiah" used for celebrating Hanukkah. Makers worked in very small silversmith ops with a limited customer base. They are rarely known.

Hello, maker is possibly Jzrael Szekman, active in Warsaw ca. 1886 - 1939. Best wishes, Bahner

Also the 3 = 800 silver, I can't tell if the little mark behind her head is a W or K but = assayed in either Warsaw or Krakow, respectively.
