Here are the marks on a tastevin:



800 is often associated with German work, but there is no accompanying crown or crescent moon here. A quick review of Tardy doesn't lead to enlightenment. Might anyone recognize the country of origin and perhaps the maker? Besides the 800 are marks of a crown and "1 BS". TIA for any assistance!

Edit: there is a crown mark, but not of the type I usually see with the German 800/crown/crescent trio.

Than you, dognose, right you are, I believe. There was no reference in my Tardy to Italy for the .800 standard, and so I missed noticing the city mark. So, silversmith #1, whoever he was, in Brescia, 1944-68 (it appears that my example indeed had the fasces symbol removed from the maker's mark as used in 1933-44, resulting in the large blank space in the middle). Anyway, it's good to know that this tastevin has a historical wine making source (in Italy, at least, as Brescia looks to be pretty far north), and my fears re the "BS" stamp were thankfully not realized. Nice to see the identifying info is posted here on the 925-1000 Silver Forum, good job!
