Those are silverplate marks of Elkington & Company.
The "U" in a diamond is a date letter for 1960.

Dear Pat thanks a lot for the quick reply, but are you sure it dates 1960s?? searching in the internet I found that in the 1960s the date letter was put in a circle, and that Elkington used the diamond frame to the date numbers back in the 19th century.

I'm very sorry about that.
