Hi All,

Does anyone know if it is posisble for silver not to be hallmarked (i.e pre dates halmarks?)

I have what appears to be an old silver spoon (a condiment spoon ?) and despite close examination there does not appear to be any hallmarks.

The spoon measures 14.5 cm in length and is very light and is fantastically balanced (weighted etc). I'm just stumped re. lack of hallmarks. Does anyone recognis eteh design style ?

Any assistance guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Kenny

Hi,

Thanks for responding.

Cna you please tell me what acid you use and do you drip it on the silver item and clean it off (with no problem)?

Thanks

Acid testing is not thought well of, suggest you give this post a read.
