Hi folks,
Can anyone decipher the marks on this .925 silver handled magnifying glass?
The antique dealer who sold me this two montsh ago said it might be italian silver.
However, from the marks shown on the site, I think it could be Swiss. Is the third hallmark a duck?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Kenny

Hi Kenny,
I think you will have to provide a more detailed close up if anyone is help. If that's not possible try drawing the mark.
Regards Trev.

Hi Trev and Everyone,
This is the best focus my digital camera can take of what is minute hallmarks on the magnifying glass.
Looks like TT - 925 - Leopards head - g

Not Swiss then if the above is proven...

Hello.
On January 1, 1999 the British hallmarking system changed.
http://www.assayofficescotland.co.uk/marks.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I read your hallmarks as London 2006. The date letter has been optional since 1999.
In 1975 the assay offices of London, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Sheffield adopted the same lettering cycle for date marks. They all now change it on January 1st.
Dublin Ireland has their own, different, date codes.
Don't know who used the TT mark.

Thanks Pat,
Not an antique either by the looks of things...
Maybe one for the future.
Thanks for your help.

Looks like the type of work that has been coming out of Thailand and Indonesia for the last decade or so.
