Help with this very unusual beetle ring

I recently acquired this marvelous beetle ring. The markings inside look Native American, but this is like no other Native American jewelry I've ever seen. There is a rising sun mark with the letters CAH and the word sterling. On the outside there is a mark that looks a little too deliberate to be accidental, but could be. It has 2 parallel lines with a diagonal arrow between them. The other side of the beetle does not have this. And inside on the side wall is a similar mark but the diagonal line does not have the arrow tip. There are onyx cabachons for the back and eyes and it measures a whopping 1.5" x .75".
I'm not sure I have the guts to wear this, and it looks like it could chew my finger off.
I'd really appreciate help in identifying this maker.
