Hello,
this tea- or coffee pot (27cm high, about 13cm in diameter)
is hallmarked on the bottom (see images below).
I read: "ARTURO MEDINA.L." in a crest,
some more characters may be missing ...
Then there is a eagle in a circle with it's head to the left,
the letter "E" and "905" which can't be the silver purity, can it ?
Don't know of any silver purity 905 anywhere !?
I thought because of the style of the pot it might be European,
also it was bought in Frankfurt, Germany.
Couldn't find anything about Arturo Medina or any of the other marks.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you

Advertising in the mid-40s, was flamboyant, "Silversmithy of Arturo Medina L., work in hammered silver in 0.900 hallmarked standard, high-quality silverware, gifts of refined artistic taste and the best hammered silver jewelry" reads the double-page notice that was published in 'The Guide Bogotá, 1948
Apparently a silversmith in Bogota, Colombia, translation is from this page

Hello Tom,
wow, thank you so much - I would have never found and guessed this.
(and my spanish is rather not existing)
Although my guess was something spanish / latin somehow
but really: I would have had no chance of ever finding out ...
thank you
all the best
Bernhard
An Eagle in a circle, head to the right - it's «Bruckmann»

Hello
That's typical «Bruckmann» silver alloy mark.
I think «Bahner» could give more detailled remarks on this mark - and maybe he has also some one to shape and model?
«Bruckmann» exported to other markets - worldwide. This object could be e.g. marked in Heilbronn by importer's marks who were deposited there.
And never passed the border before just now?
Kind regards silverport

Dear Silverport,
thanks a lot, great ... -
I found the Bruckmann - eagle in the german hallmark section.
Now I still wonder what the E and 905 means ?
and why there is a mark from Heilbronn and one by a silversmith in Bogota, Colombia ? Who would have made it and who imported or exported it (or maybe just tried to do so) ?
thank you

Hello, looks indeed like the Bruckmann eagle. As to the other marks - never saw them before and I could only guess what they mean. I will check my Bruckmann sources, maybe I can come up with a production number. Best wishes, Bahner
