I am having difficulty identifying a London silver maker's mark. I attach 2 photos of it. The marks appear on a silver topped walking cane/stick made by BRIGG London. The silver mark is for London 1934
The maker's mark includes <b> <s> on both sides of a ship, followed by <CC>

The actual maker's or sponsor's mark is the initials "CC" for Charles Cooke (Frith Street) who is confirmed by Culme as the chief mounter of sticks, canes and umbrellas to Messrs. Brigg and Son of St. James Street from about 1889, then at 56 Frith Street.

The most obvious explanation for the other mark would be that this is Brigg's mark as retailer, and it does not appear in Culme.

PS On further thought the incorporation of the ship, a sailing brig, would be an obvious "canting" sign for Messrs. Brigg and Son.

Also your photo is not very clear of the date letter, but 1914 would be a more likely date for this maker.

Thank you for your kind response.
What you say makes sense about the connection between a 'brigg' and a 'sailing ship.'
As far as the date letter <t> is concerned, I too thought 1914 a better date than 1934. But when I posted my query, the 't' on my cane just about looked like a gothic type of 't' so I chose 1934. But looking at the date letter again, I'm now not sure that it is a gothic 't'.
