Hi -
I am collecting Russian match box holders and have one whose maker´s
mark I can not find. I searched high and low - no success.
Here is the foto:
Here is the maker´s mark BEP (again upside down!) and the assay office Moscow 1899. Cyr.
VJeR or Lat.
BEP.
Who could it be? Any help very welcome!

Evening Postnikov, nice troika :-)
How about niello master and silversmith ВаÑилий Егорович Рукавишников ~1890-1908?
He had a silver shop on Sh. M. Belenky in Moscow. He also used the mark BP

By a coincident I just noticed that you will also find him in P as #2337 i.e. Vasily Yegorovich Rukavishnikov.

Good evening Qrt.s -
I am very glad you found him!! Many thanks!
In my collection I have several other match box holders from Rukavischnikov, but they are all marked with BP only. Do you have a scan of the BEP mark in your sources? If yes - I would be grateful to see it and update my files.
Many thanks again!

My pleasure, but unfortunately this time I don't have a picture of BEP's mark. It is only mentioned in the books being his initials alongside with BP. Sorry, but I will keep my eyes open in case I stumble into it.
