Butter knife

I don't recognise the marks on this butter knife(?).

The mark on the left is inverted; it's a bear's head for Bern, Switzerland. The maker's mark is very worn, but I think (if also inverted) it might be "HS" for Heinrich Schmid (1812-1890).
