Cheers,
Its almost this and almost that, but I can't quite put my finger on exactly what town this may be. Look forward to any suggestions.

is there an image of the objekt?
my first Impression was a horse like Stuttgart, but there are a few things that do not belong here.
Is there no makersmark?
Schwäbisch Gmünd had an unicorn and it could be the mark R3 Nr 2182
but I am not sure.

Hello Theoderich,
Thanks for responding. I've tried, but can't see any similarity to the unicorn mark. The closest I have found is Darmstadt, assuming the mark, as shown, is tilted and the animal is in a rampant position. Its most distinctive attribute is the curl of the tail, it is curled inward toward the body and this is quite uncommon. I won't say it is unprecedented, but, as yet, cannot find another example of the same.
Cheers,
AinA

Hello again,
I've just taken the mark and played around a bit with it in a photo program. Changing its angle to put the animal into a rampant position proves my assumption wrong, it is clearly meant to be running, not rearing. This eliminates Darmstadt, perhaps it is Schwäbisch Gmünd or even possibly Stuttgart.
