Using this site's Russian marks section (and help from a friend) I was able to identify assayer, year, and city but can't figure out maker.

I appreciate your help!

Hi -

The "maker´s" name is M. Schakov 1843-1863, producing mostly diningspoons.

His full name was Morduch Jasher Shakov (sometimes transliterated as Mordecai Yasher Sakov), and he had a number of apprentices 1856-1871. In 1859, he submitted for assay a total of 61 pounds of silver (including 144 tablespoons, 30 teaspoons, 6 knives, 12 cups and 24 candlesticks).

Sorry about that - please ignore my earlier post. Correct information on this maker is:

Meyer Morduch Vulfovich Shakov, born 1819, Master 1 Jul 1843, still working 1878.

That's what I get for posting (not to mention reading Lithuanian) so late at night!

No problem, thanks for the additional information!

I have a couple of other Russain pieces that I may need help identifying. I'll post them soon.

Thanks again!
