I am interested in the silver not so long ago, therefore I apologies if my questions will be incorrect. I need some more information about Three Tower Mark - http://www.925-1000.com/dm_Assay.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . I am reading: The Three Tower Mark was instituted in 1608 as the official city mark of Copenhagen. Why Three Tower? What the origin have this symbol? What does this symbol mean?

And some more question. In reference to presented information Three Tower Mark was instituted in 1608, the Assay Master’s Initial Mark was used from 1679 and in 1893 the new system of silver marking was enacted, in accordance with it both marks became required. What the rules of the silver marking existed till 1608 and in the periods 1608-1679 and 1679-1893? What the markers can I see on silver plate at indicated time? Maybe do exist any document’s ore any additional literature about these facts? I will be very grateful somebody who will help me to found out answers to my questions.

Regulation was stated in 1491 and in 1496 that silver should marked with masters mark.
You should see citymark as another stating of regulations.
Yet another sharpening with tax mark in 1685.

Thank you very much for you help. It is found that everything is very simple! :) Three towers are the symbol of Copenhagen. If to be precise, three towers are symbol of the ancient castle built by the bishop Absalon.

I would like to ask about one more historical fact. When was founded Danish Assay Master Marker. Who became Stadtsguardien Marker? I would be very grateful for some more details and for additional reference.

Thank you for your help. It is very helpful information for me. But I wonder, who was initiator of the regulation in 1491 and in 1496. Does the additional information exist about it?

What do these tax mark stand for? What products could have this mark?
