There are a number of danish marks with IB (most likely) but BI could be the case. I have not found an exact match but danish is a likely possibility.

Scrolled down and saw the item - not danish so I checket Norway.
Tønsberg master Jens Glad Balchen born december 4th 1794 in Bergen. Master november 16th 1824 in Tønsberg masterpiece approved november 30th 1826, on condition that he remained in Tønsberg (small town so he might have sought a better marked case he was allowed) dead September 2nd 1855.

Thank you so much for your prompt answer. I hoped it being a bit earlier, I saw some similar egg in Kopenhagues "Museum of decorative Arts" described as German 18th. Could you please tell me which reference book you used to complete perhaps my little library?
thanks again and kind regards
Wolfgang

Denmark I used Bøje Danske Sølvmærker (Danish Silvermarks) book 2 of 3. And sold out many years ago.
Norway "Østlandssølv" ISBN 82-496-0233-1 edition from 2003.
The books are reference books with registre of danish - norwegian silversmiths - their marks are all the different marks identified by each silversmith.

Luckily I got the "Binds I+II" of Bøje ed. 1982 but still searching "Bind III", about "Østlandsølv" with your ISBN nothing to find out about. Can you please give me the exact title and author and everything. Thank you so much in advance.
